The
Stone Key is one of the largest multi-zone mysteries in World of Warcraft: Forever. It begins with a burnt page at Thoradin’s Wall, moves through the Undercity sewers, and leads to the Stone Key in Riverglades, alongside additional riddles in the Blasted Lands and Un’Goro Crater.
Below is every confirmed step, object requirement, and coordinate along the trail, followed by the loose clues that remain open.

Stone Key Walkthrough: Arathi, Undercity and Riverglades
The shortest current route has three mandatory beats:
- Find the
Burnt Page beside the
Cozy Sleeping Bag turn-in at Thoradin’s Wall. - Take a
Keystone Fragment from the barrel in the Undercity sewers. - Open the small pack in Riverglades to obtain the
Stone Key.
You can climb into the Thoradin’s Wall room directly, but finishing the Cozy Sleeping Bag chain is the easiest way to reach it. Everything after the key is still research. The Blasted Lands page requires the key, but the page itself is a clue rather than a confirmed continuation to a final chest.
Burnt Page at Thoradin’s Wall: 22.69, 24.17
The page is in the same hidden room where the Cozy Sleeping Bag chain ends; finishing that chain is the easiest way in, though you can also climb straight up. Inside, find the barrel next to the Messenger Bag where that quest ends. The
Burnt Page is on the Arathi side at 22.69, 24.17.
The useful climb begins on the Hillsbrad side at 87.61, 47.91. If you already finished the sleeping bag, you have walked most of this route.

1 · Burnt Page22.7, 24.2It is a clue you read on the spot, not an item for your bags. The page reads:
Living death on this page you will see. Sewer’s trail, a toxic tail.
Until October 8 it had a middle line about finding the key “beneath mindless undeath”; that sentence was removed, so older guides quote a longer riddle.
The riddle points to the Undercity sewers. It does not point to Blackrock Mountain.
Keystone Fragment in the Undercity Sewers: 22.86, 36.19
Enter the sewers through the back entrance and follow the tunnels until you find the torn page and barrel at 22.86, 36.19.
Click the knife beside the page: since the September 24 maintenance it yields an Uncommon
Keystone Fragment (281350). Search the barrel too. That fragment is the object required by the Riverglades pack.

1 · Torn page and knife22.9, 36.2The second half of the page says that the gaze of the orcish warrior lies upon a map. Treat it as a clue, not a coordinate.
What Does Page 155 Mean in the Stone Key Riddle?
The riddle’s mention of page 155 reaches outside the game: page 155 of the original 2004 World of Warcraft manual shows an orc warrior studying a map of the southern Eastern Kingdoms. The Undercity page adds three images: Blackrock Mountain, the Dark Portal and Fire Plume Ridge in Un’Goro Crater. That explains why the trail heads south to the Blasted Lands and Un’Goro, but no object has been tied to the manual’s map yet.
Stone Key in Riverglades: Behind the Sleeping Twilight Peon
Travel to Riverglades and use the upper jump-off point at 26.72, 47.74. From there, work down to the small pack behind the sleeping Twilight Peon at 26.56, 45.58.
The pack requires the
Keystone Fragment (281350) and awards the
Stone Key (281358).
Older beta guides place this key inside Blackrock Mountain. The object was moved to Riverglades with the same object ID, so any route that sends you up Blackrock Spire is following an earlier build. Use the two Riverglades coordinates above (26.72, 47.74 for the jump-off point and 26.56, 45.58 behind the sleeping Twilight Peon) to go straight to the pack.
Blasted Lands Burnt Page: 45.19, 16.47
With the
Stone Key in your bags, go to Dreadmaul Hold in the Blasted Lands. The next
Burnt Page is at 45.19, 16.47.
The page describes three places of mystery, an ogre-protected key and a tomb with a shallow mark. It ends with light shining through a passage and one last careful span. Those phrases are not yet tied to verified coordinates. The page itself is confirmed; the interpretation is not.

1 · Burnt Page45.2, 16.5Un’Goro Hidden Stash and the Night Watchman’s Torch
The hidden stash in Un’Goro Crater only becomes visible while the Night Watchman’s Torch is out and lit. Enter the cave where Ringo is, near 52.48, 51.10, then search the stash at 52.16, 49.64.

1 · Cave entrance52.5, 51.12 · Hidden Stash52.2, 49.6The torch requirement is confirmed. Whether this stash is a required step, an alternate clue or a separate secret has not been established.
Brittle Key and Traveler’s Cache: A Confirmed Side Puzzle
This pair is solved as a puzzle of its own:
- Open the Stonetalon Mountains hidden stash at 40.71, 52.75 for a
Brittle Key (221324). It lasts one hour. - Within that hour, travel to the Stranglethorn Vale Traveler’s Cache at 14.43, 27.15 and open it with the key.
- Inside is a Torn Page that says, “The calm comes before the storm.”
What is not known is whether this side puzzle feeds into the
Stone Key lock. Plan the trip with a flight path or a mage portal; one hour is tight from Stonetalon.
Other Loose Clues
- A note in Stormwind City was also flagged at 67.20, 82.53. No confirmed quest continuation has been tied to it.

1 · Hidden Stash40.7, 52.8The client also contains two higher-quality
Keystone Fragment records—Rare (284092) and Epic (284093)—that players have not yet recovered through a public route.
What Does the Stone Key Open in WoW Forever?
No final lock has been confirmed. There is no verified chest, door, quest turn-in or reward after the Riverglades key, and no public evidence that Uldaman has been solved as the answer.
The correct current conclusion is narrow: collect the page, fragment and key, test the Blasted Lands page and keep the lit torch available for Un’Goro. Report a working interaction if the live game adds one; do not spend hours on a route that public evidence does not yet support.

Stone Key Checklist
- Reach the Thoradin’s Wall room. The Cozy Sleeping Bag chain leads there, or climb in directly.
- Read the Burnt Page at Thoradin’s Wall. It is a clue to read on the spot at 22.69, 24.17, not an item you need to carry.
- Loot the Undercity fragment. Click the knife and search the barrel at 22.86, 36.19.
- Open the Riverglades pack. Use the coordinates instead of the retired Blackrock Mountain route.
- Bring the Night Watchman’s Torch to Un’Goro. The stash is invisible without its lit effect.
- Do the Brittle Key run in under an hour. Stonetalon stash first, then the Stranglethorn Traveler’s Cache.
- Keep the
Stone Key. No final use is confirmed, and discarding an unresolved quest object serves no purpose.
Stone Key Walkthrough: Locations and Riddle Clues Common Questions
Where do I start the WoW Forever Stone Key mystery?
At Thoradin's Wall, in the hidden room where the Cozy Sleeping Bag chain ends. The burnt page sits in a barrel by the Messenger Bag on the Arathi side at 22.69, 24.17, and the climb starts on the Hillsbrad side at 87.61, 47.91. The sleeping bag chain is the easiest way there, but you can also climb straight into the room.
Where is the Keystone Fragment in the Undercity?
Enter the Undercity sewers through the back entrance and search the barrel near 22.86, 36.19. Since the September 24 maintenance, a knife beside the torn page also gives a Keystone Fragment.
Where is the Stone Key in Riverglades?
Use the jump-off point at 26.72, 47.74 and search behind the sleeping Twilight Peon around 26.56, 45.58. The pack requires the Keystone Fragment. Older guides that send you to Blackrock Mountain are out of date.
What does the Stone Key open?
No lock, reward or follow-up quest has been confirmed. The Blasted Lands page requires the key, and an Un'Goro stash needs the lit Night Watchman's Torch, but neither proves where the completed trail ends.
What does the Brittle Key open?
The Traveler's Cache in Stranglethorn Vale at 14.43, 27.15. Take the Brittle Key from the Stonetalon stash at 40.71, 52.75 and use it within an hour; the cache holds a Torn Page. Whether this side puzzle feeds into the Stone Key lock is not known.
What does Page 155 mean in the Stone Key riddle?
It points outside the game, to page 155 of the original 2004 World of Warcraft manual, which shows an orc warrior studying a map of the southern Eastern Kingdoms.
