1. Level Engineering from 1 to 300
The leveling route uses Classic Era recipes and training requirements as its baseline; the selected crafts below come from Forever client data. If Forever has changed a learning requirement or recipe, trust the in-game trainer and schematic over this page before buying a whole stage of materials. The skill ranges below refer to profession skill, not character level.
Craft counts are starting budgets: yellow and green recipes can fail to award a skill point, so top up in small batches. Engineering runs on intermediates — powders, bolts, gizmos, casings — and every shopping list assumes you carry those parts forward. If you start partway through, make the stock parts listed in the earlier stages first.
Stage 1 of 5 · Skill 1–75
1–75: Bolts, powder and your first spanner
At character level 5, learn Apprentice Engineering from Springspindle Fizzlegear in Ironforge’s Tinker Town (68.5, 43.5), or Roxxik in Orgrimmar’s Valley of Honor (76.2, 25.2). Buy a Blacksmith Hammer from a trade supplier. You will craft the other tools yourself: the Arclight Spanner at skill 50 and the Gyromatic Micro-Adjustor around skill 194 — most schematics ask for one of these in your bags.

The blasting powder and copper bolts you craft are not trash — all of them go back into the Rough Copper Bombs that close this stage. At skill 50 and character level 10, train Journeyman Engineering with your city trainer before you reach the 75 cap.
Stage 2 of 5 · Skill 75–150
75–150: Bronze parts are future ammunition
Keep working with your city trainer through the bronze recipes. At skill 125 and character level 20, learn Expert Engineering from Trixie Quikswitch in Ironforge (67.5, 42.9) or Nogg in Orgrimmar (76.0, 25.4) to raise the cap to 225. Weak Flux and Moss Agate come from suppliers and the auction house rather than the ground.

Most of what you make here is stock, not scrap. Keep the 15 Bronze Tubes left over from the scopes, all 30 Heavy Blasting Powders and all 15 Whirring Bronze Gizmos — Explosive Sheep in the next stage consumes every one. Silver Contacts are spare parts for later schematics too.
Stage 3 of 5 · Skill 150–215
150–215: Sheep, triggers and the trip to Gadgetzan
At skill 200 and character level 35, learn Artisan Engineering. Buzzek Bracketswing in Gadgetzan, Tanaris (52.3, 27.7) trains both factions; Springspindle Fizzlegear and Roxxik can raise the cap in the capitals as well. From skill 200 and character level 30 you can also sign up for a specialization: Tinkmaster Overspark in Ironforge (Alliance) and Oglethorpe Obnoticus in Booty Bay handle Gnomish Engineering, while Nixx Sprocketspring in Gadgetzan and Vazario Linkgrease in Ratchet enroll Goblin engineers.

The Explosive Sheep clear out the powder, gizmos and frameworks you stocked — that is the point of the earlier hoarding. The specialization errands ask for items you craft along the way, so keep the Mithril Tubes if you lean Gnomish and spare Explosive Sheep for Goblin. Of the 60 Solid Blasting Powders, 20 go into Unstable Triggers and the remaining 40 feed next stage’s bombs.
Stage 4 of 5 · Skill 215–250
215–250: Casings in, bombs out
Mithril Casing and Hi-Explosive Bomb both come straight from your trainer, so there is no new rank to chase here. If you have not picked a specialization, any trainer above skill 200 can still point you at the signup errands — the stage works either way.

Everything flows one direction: 40 casings, 20 triggers and 40 powders become exactly 20 Hi-Explosive Bombs. Keep the bombs instead of vendoring them — they are solid damage while leveling, and Goblin engineers always have a use for stockpiled explosives.
Stage 5 of 5 · Skill 250–300
250–300: Thorium widgets to the finish
Two schematics on this stretch are bought, not taught. Engineering suppliers sell the Thorium Widget plans; the Thorium Tube schematic is sold in Everlook, Winterspring, in limited stock — plan the trip before you reach 285, and check the auction house if the vendor is out.

Craft counts here are budgets, not promises — late brackets fail to award points more often, so top up in small batches instead of one big buy. At 300 the real prize unlocks: specialization toys, field transporters and camp machinery, starting with the picks below.
2. What Engineering Crafts Are Worth Making in Forever?
Forever Engineering goes far beyond scopes and sheep: camp machinery, field transporters, a loot-retrieving boomerang, and the EZ-Thro line of explosives that even non-engineers can throw. These client-listed devices stand out for what they let you do; their availability follows the content that is open.
