PvP: separate spending power from rank
Honor Points pay for items; Rank Points advance your PvP rank and unlock access to rank-gated purchases. The client describes Honor as coming from kills of opposing players, while Rank Points come from battleground participation and tasks given in Gadgetzan. A high balance of Honor does not replace a rank requirement, and a new rank does not by itself pay for the item.
Before you start farming, pick the reward you want and check both its price and rank requirement. If you lack rank, prioritize the activities that grant Rank Points; if you already qualify, plan the currency needed for the purchase. Check the reward vendor again before a long session so that you are working toward a specific item rather than an arbitrary balance.
Trade: fill a crate for a specific recipe
Merchant's Favor belongs to the supply-crate loop. Identify the crate, choose one of its accepted material bundles, fill it, then hand it to the Supply Officer for your side. You do not need to buy every bundle listed on the crate: choose one that you can supply at a sensible cost. The turn-in also grants reputation with the Azeroth Commerce Authority or Durotar Supply and Logistics.
Check the profession vendor for the recipe you want before spending Favor. Currency and reputation are separate results of the same delivery; the profession recipes listed in the supply guide do not require reputation. Compare the materials you would hand in with the value of getting that recipe now, especially when those materials are also needed for your own profession route.
Legacy: earn points before planning the tree
A Legacy rank is a progression measure, not a bag of points to spend. Legacy Challenges award the points used in the Legacy trees. Choose a challenge that overlaps with your current play: class leveling, a profession milestone, exploration or a PvP reputation goal. Then plan the perk you want with the points you expect to earn.
For the remaining currencies, start with the activity named by the currency rather than assuming it shares a PvP or Legacy exchange. Darkmoon Prize Tickets come from Faire games and favors. Tarnished Undermine Reals have their own goblin-town exchange description; do not budget them as Honor or Merchant's Favor. Check the actual vendor offer before collecting a large stock.
The Two Renown Tracks
Forever adds two ranked tracks that behave like currencies in the client. The PvP track stops at 14 and the Legacy track at 90.
