About Razorfen Kraul

During the apocalyptic War of the Ancients, the great boar demigod Agamaggan fought the Burning Legion across southern Kalimdor until he fell exhausted upon the plains. Where his sacred blood spilled into the sun-scorched earth, impenetrable thickets of colossal crimson thorns erupted skyward, petrifying into massive defensive bulwarks. The quilboar race venerated these primeval briars as their divine ancestral cradle, building their supreme stronghold within Razorfen Kraul.

Yet age-old ancestral devotion has soured into bloodthirsty fanaticism. Charlga Razorflank, the blind Crone of the Razormane tribe, consolidated iron-fisted rule through terror and foul geomancy. In league with dark summoners like Death Speaker Jargba, she enslaves feral dire boars, conducts blood sacrifices beneath the roots, and launches brutal raiding parties against neighboring Tauren settlements and Alliance survey teams.

Breaching Razorfen Kraul is an arduous trudge through living wooden canyons tangled with razor thorns and wooden stockades. Strike teams must navigate multi-tiered earthen ramparts swarming with quilboar headhunters, battle through the feral frenzy of the monstrous beast Agathelos, and confront Crone Charlga’s chain lightning on her bramble-woven throne.

First Run

  • Located in the far southern reaches of the Barrens, nestled inside the massive thorny briar trees overlooking the Great Lift into Thousand Needles.
  • Target level 24 to 27. The corridors weave tightly across elevated thorn roots; watch patrol paths to prevent adds pulling from lower ledges.
  • Geomancers and shamans drop Earthbind and Healing Stream totems; assign ranged damage to pop totems instantly to prevent prolonged brawls.
  • Keep your party healthy before accepting the escort quest for Willix the Importer; ambushing Razormane packs attack swiftly along the winding trail.

Veteran Notes

  • Six encounters: Roogug, Aggem Thorncurse, Death Speaker Jargba, Overlord Ramtusk, Agathelos the Raging, and Charlga Razorflank.
  • Eleven attached quests spanning Thunder Bluff, Camp Taurajo, Theramore, and the Great Lift.
  • Overlord Ramtusk's Heart of Agamaggan and Agathelos's Corpsemaker axe represent massive mid-level power spikes for warriors and paladins.
