Maraudon Route & Boss Strategy

Maraudon is three dungeons in one cavern. Two entrances, orange and purple, each run past two bosses and meet at the corrupted keeper Celebras; beyond him a waterfall drops into the inner caverns and the princess at the bottom. Most groups pick one side, or skip both with the Scepter of Celebras once they own it. The full tour takes two hours or more, and the inner half alone about forty-five minutes.

1. The Orange Side

   • The left entrance. Slimes, lashers and plant packs fill wide caverns with room to pull back. Fill the Coated Cerulean Vial at the orange crystal pool on this side for Vyletongue Corruption.
   • Theradric Crystal Carvings for Twisted Evils drop from enemies throughout the dungeon. Two of the five khans for The Pariah's Instructions are inside the instance; the other three are in the outer caves.

2. Noxxion

   Boss

   Toxic Volley

   Nature damage to everyone near him.

   Split

   He breaks apart into a handful of small slimes, then reforms.

   • When he splits, kill the small slimes with area damage. He comes back when they are dead.
   • He drops the Celebrian Rod, half of the scepter for Legends of Maraudon.

3. Razorlash

   Boss

   Puncture

   A bleed on the tank.

   Cleave

   Hits everyone in front of him.

   • A lasher at the end of the orange caverns. Tank him facing away from the party and keep the tank topped up through the bleed.

4. The Purple Side

   • The right entrance. Satyrs hold the purple caverns, many of them stealthed, so move slowly and keep the party together.
   • Use the filled vial on eight Vylestem Vines here. Each one spawns a Noxxious Scion to kill.

5. Lord Vyletongue

   Boss

   Multi-Shot

   Arrows at several players.

   Smoke Bomb

   Stuns players near him.

   Blink

   Teleports away and drops threat.

   • He stands on a rise with stealthed guards around him. Flush the guards out with a careful pull and kill them first.
   • The tank picks him up again after each Blink.
   • He drops the Celebrian Diamond, the other half of the scepter.

6. Tinkerer Gizlock

   Boss

   Goblin Dragon Gun

   A cone of fire in front of him.

   Bomb

   Fire damage where it lands.

   • A goblin in the tunnel that leads on from the purple side. Tank him facing away from the party so the flames hit one player.

7. Celebras the Cursed

   Boss

   Corrupt Forces of Nature

   Summons treants.

   Entangling Roots

   Roots one player.

   Twisted Tranquility

   Slows the attacks and movement of everyone near him.

   • Both sides meet where he stands. Kill the treants as they come and interrupt his Wrath.
   • When he dies, Celebras the Redeemed appears. With the rod and the diamond, follow him through his short ritual and he makes the Scepter of Celebras, which opens a portal from the outer caves straight to this point on later runs.

8. The Inner Caverns

   • Jump down the waterfall beyond Celebras. There is no way back up. Giants, hydras and elementals fill the falls, most of them in ones and twos that hit hard.

9. Landslide

   Boss

   Knock Away

   Throws the tank back.

   Trample

   Damages everyone near him.

   • A stone giant in a side cavern. Tank him against a wall so the knockback moves nobody.

10. Rotgrip

    Optional

    Puncture

    A bleed on the tank.

    Fatal Bite

    A heavy bite that heals him.

    • The crocolisk swims in the lake at the bottom of the falls. Pull him to the shore and fight on dry ground.

11. Princess Theradras

    Boss

    Dust Field

    Damages everyone near her.

    Boulder

    Hurls a rock at a ranged player.

    Repulsive Gaze

    Fears everyone near her.

    Knock Away

    Throws the tank back.

    • Fight her with the tank's back to a wall, and clear the cavern first so the fear sends nobody into a pack.
    • Melee step out of the Dust Field and return when it ends. A Tremor Totem or Fear Ward helps greatly.
    • Her death completes Corruption of Earth and Seed. Zaetar's Spirit rises beside her body and gives Seed of Life.
