On This Page
The Drunken Dwarf is a complete tavern hidden above the Dun Algaz tunnels, between Loch Modan and the Wetlands. It has no road, no quest, no innkeeper and no map marker. The only way in is an awkward mountain climb that starts earlier than the visible path suggests.
The reward is not loot. It is a unique place: its own music, a chef and bartender, food sold nowhere else, a gryphon statue, a dog and Aetherstill Spirits, a drink that floats you back down the mountain. It also has a cellar door that still does not open.

Drunken Dwarf Tavern Location: 53.0, 79.6
Open the Wetlands map with the tavern pin and follow the road through the Dun Algaz tunnel toward the orc camp. When the orc camp comes into view on your left, leave the road to the left and start climbing before you reach the camp.
The exact route is easier to understand by the landmarks than by a straight line: climb early onto the ridge, follow it around above the tunnel entrance rather than trying to ascend from the camp, then drop down toward the lone tree beside the terrace. If you reach the tree from above, the tavern entrance is directly in front of you.

1 · The Drunken Dwarf53.0, 79.6How to Reach the Tavern Above Dun Algaz
- Enter the Dun Algaz tunnel from Loch Modan or the Wetlands.
- With the orc camp on your left, leave the road to the left before the camp and climb the slope.
- Follow the ridge around above the tunnel entrance until you see a tree below a terrace.
- Drop toward the tree, not toward the tunnel roof.
- Walk onto the terrace and enter the tavern.
If you slide back to the road, you climbed too late. The slope has several false ledges, and a mount can overshoot the final drop. Take the last section on foot.
Inside the Drunken Dwarf
The tavern is owned by Agriel Firebrew and staffed by a chef and bartender. It is a rested area, but there is no innkeeper, so you cannot set your hearthstone. The menu includes food that cannot be bought in the usual cities and a slow-fall drink that lets you leave the mountain without retracing the climb.
Who Is Agriel Firebrew?
Agriel Firebrew is a dwarf who runs the tavern from her post at about 52.9, 79.7. Talk to her and she explains that the building was an old lookout the kingdom no longer needed, and that she has been pouring drinks there for a little over a year. Word has spread: merchants have started seeking her out to sell their own brews and food.
Aetherstill Spirits: The Tavern’s Slow-Fall Drink
Agriel sells Aetherstill Spirits (274616). Drinking it gives Lightheaded for 45 seconds: slow fall, a little intoxication and a higher-pitched voice.
- It is unique and binds when picked up, so you carry one at a time.
- It expires 45 seconds after you buy it, so it cannot be stockpiled.
- It cannot be used in combat.
Buy it only when you are ready to leave, step to the edge of the terrace, drink and jump. Aim for low ground you can reach before the 45 seconds run out.
The room is deliberately complete: its own music, a gryphon statue, a dog and a terrace overlooking Dun Algaz. This is not a placeholder interior. That completeness is why the locked cellar attracts so much attention.
How to Open the Drunken Dwarf Cellar Door
At the back of the tavern is a cellar door that cannot be clicked. Players have tried Lockpicking on it without success, and no key, item or quest that opens it has turned up. For now there is nothing to farm for it; just check the door when you visit.
Is the Cellar Connected to Half-Pint Tavern?
An unannounced instance map named Half-Pint Tavern (map ID 3002) appeared in early client files, listed for levels 32–36 with two bosses, Deathulus and Crushfist Bloodbreaker. It was removed after the October 1 build. A tavern-themed dungeon and a locked tavern cellar make an obvious pair, but nothing in the game ties the two together yet, so treat the link as player speculation.
Is the Climb Worth It?
Yes. It is one of the most detailed hidden locations in Forever, and the slow-fall ale turns the descent into part of the visit. Stop by once while leveling through Loch Modan or the Wetlands and buy Aetherstill Spirits for the jump back down.
Drunken Dwarf Checklist
- Enter the Dun Algaz tunnel from either side.
- Climb before the orc camp, with the camp on your left. Starting from the camp usually puts you on the wrong ledge.
- Aim for the tree and terrace. The final drop is safer on foot.
- Buy Aetherstill Spirits right before you leave. It lasts only 45 seconds and is the cleanest way down.
- Check the cellar door at the back of the room. It is still locked, and Lockpicking does not open it.
