About WoW Handbook

WoW Handbook is an independent guide and client-data reference for World of Warcraft: Forever. We help you answer three questions fast: what changed from Classic Era, what should I play, and where should I go next.

Who Runs WoW Handbook

WoW Handbook is built and maintained by ArcaneStudio, an independent team of long-time World of Warcraft raiders, dungeon route planners, and client-data engineers. We extract, verify, write, and maintain every guide, interactive calculator, zone route, and in-game addon module on the site ourselves. WoW Handbook is free to read, supported by advertising, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Blizzard Entertainment.

What We Cover

Everything on WoW Handbook is purpose-built for World of Warcraft: Forever. Classic Era (1.15.9) appears strictly as the baseline for comparison so you can see at a glance which talents, spells, recipes, item sets, and dungeon encounters behave differently in Forever.

How We Research & Verify

  • Direct CASC & DB2 Extraction: Game mechanics, talent trees, spell ranks, reagent tables, Legacy challenges, and map coordinates are parsed directly from the World of Warcraft: Forever client database tables and diffed against Classic Era 1.15.9.
  • In-Game Route & Encounter Testing: Leveling stop-by-stop sequences, dungeon boss mechanics, and camping object interactions are tested on the Beta and Stress Test realms—and cross-checked through our WoW Handbook in-game addon—before we publish walkthrough recommendations.
  • Traceable Build Timestamps: Every data page cites the exact client build it was generated from and is rebuilt whenever Blizzard ships a new patch.

Primary Data Sources

Game Client Data

  • Talents, spellbooks, Legacy Trees, racial and class abilities, profession recipes, item tooltips, quests, and maps: extracted directly from the World of Warcraft: Forever client, build 1.60.1.70685 (released Oct 28, 2026), and rebuilt with each new client build.
  • Classic baseline: World of Warcraft Classic Era 1.15.9 client data, used to compute exact diffs for what is new, modified, or removed in Forever.
  • Icons and images: Blizzard's official World of Warcraft icon service and official Blizzard Entertainment media, alongside WoW Handbook's own in-game screenshots, interior dungeon maps, and illustrations.
