How to Pick Your Forever Character
A roll is a good way to break a tie, but three choices decide whether a character sticks: the role you want in a group, the faction your friends play, and whether you want something Classic never allowed. The Alliance has 28 race and class pairs and the Horde has 28, so either side gives you plenty of room.
Start from the role
- Tank: Warrior, Paladin, Druid
- Healer: Paladin, Priest, Shaman, Druid
- Damage: Warrior, Paladin, Hunter, Rogue, Priest, Shaman, Mage, Warlock, Druid
Tanks and healers find dungeon groups fastest. If you mostly quest alone, a class with a pet or strong self-healing levels more smoothly. Lock the class card above and keep rolling the race until the racials suit your plan.

After the roll
Open the class guide for what Forever changed and the recommended builds, plan your first talent points in the calculator, and check the racials page before you settle on a race. Then pick a name that fits: the name generator draws from each race's own naming patterns.
