About Darnassus
Darnassus was born from an act of hope. After the Third War the night elves had lost more than their forests. The Battle of Mount Hyjal had cost them their immortality when the World Tree Nordrassil was wounded, and a people who had watched millennia pass now had to count their years. The druids of the Cenarion Circle set out to plant a new World Tree on the coast, and named it Teldrassil, the Crown of the Earth. Among its boughs the night elves raised their capital.
The city is a place of quiet ritual. The Temple of the Moon stands at its center, where the priestesses of Elune keep the vigil that has kept the night elves through ten thousand years, and the Cenarion Enclave holds the druids who tend the tree’s roots. The Sentinels, warriors sworn to defend their people, keep watch over the boughs.
Yet Darnassus keeps its unease close. The great druid Malfurion Stormrage is lost in the Emerald Dream, and the new World Tree is not entirely at peace; there are whispers in its roots, and wild creatures beneath it grow sick. The night elves who once ruled the world now stand on the bough of a tree they have staked their future on, hoping it grows toward the light.
Peaceful and green, Darnassus rewards a slow walk: the Temple of the Moon and the Cenarion Enclave are its spiritual center, and portals and winding paths lead back down to Rut’theran Village at the foot of the tree.

- The only way in is the portal in Rut'theran Village at the foot of Teldrassil, and boats to Darkshore leave from the same village.

Darnassus Leveling Guide for the Alliance, Levels 10–60
Darnassus is the night elf capital in the boughs of Teldrassil, connected to Rut'theran Village below via the pink portal at the western gate. For leveling Alliance characters, the city serves as your northwestern trainer, bank, barbershop, and reputation hub: the Cenarion Enclave handles Druid training and Fandral Staghelm's Morrowgrain and Un'Goro chains, the Temple of the Moon hosts Priest trainers and Tyrande's quests, and the Tradesmen's and Craftsmen's Terraces hold every primary profession trainer plus the Darnassus cloth quartermaster.

Stepping through the glowing portal behind the Bank at the west edge of the city drops you at Rut'theran Village, where Vesprystus flies you to Auberdine in Darkshore and Nessa Shadowsong's fishing and supply errands start. Inside the city, guards mark any class trainer, profession trainer, or the new Forever barbershop on your map.

Arch Druid Fandral Staghelm and Mathrengyl Bearwalker stand in the Cenarion Enclave. Staghelm sends you for the Un'Goro Soil and the Morrowgrain, and gives The New Frontier; Bearwalker hands in the Morrowgrain research and gives Rabine Saturna, the start of the Moonglade errands.

Raedon Duskstriker in the Craftsmen's Terrace accepts city reputation cloth turn-ins (60 Wool, Silk, Mageweave, and Runecloth) for Darnassus reputation and nightsaber mount access.
