Place a campfire
Cooking starts with a Basic Campfire at skill 1. Higher Cooking skill unlocks larger camps.
Every campfire, buff, utility, and profession upgrade
Build a shared roadside base, sit or craft nearby for one minute, then carry its benefits into your next hour of adventuring.
Core loop
Cooking starts with a Basic Campfire at skill 1. Higher Cooking skill unlocks larger camps.
The other 11 professions unlock a first feature at skill 20. Advanced blueprints require skill 140 or 300.
Sit or craft near the fire for one minute to receive every eligible benefit in the camp.
Attribute benefits last one hour. Camp features share a one-hour placement cooldown; camp objects last 15 minutes in the beta data.
Skill 20 → 140 → 300
Each profession starts with one feature at skill 20. The skill-140 and skill-300 blueprints are placed over that object, so they cost no extra slot: they add a new utility and, apart from the Engineering workbench, carry the original benefit forward.

Placement and sharing
Nearly anywhere in the open world. A campfire turns the spot into a campsite that other passing players can walk up to and use, so the useful places are the ones people actually pass through: a quest hub you are working, the road between two zones, or just outside a dungeon entrance while the group forms.
No. Every camp object mirrors an existing class buff and will not stack with it. A Sharpening Wheel and a Strength of Earth Totem do not add up, and neither do an Incense Candle and Arcane Intellect. Each entry in the tables above names the buff it conflicts with, so a camp is worth most to a group that is missing those classes.
Three, five or ten feature slots, depending on the campfire. A Basic Campfire holds three, a Journeyman Campfire five, and an Expert Campfire ten. Each player at the camp can contribute one object from their own professions, which is why a camp fills up fastest when several people stop at it.
One minute. Sit or craft near the fire for a minute and you collect every benefit in the camp at once. The attribute buffs then last an hour, and camp features share a one-hour placement cooldown.
You need Cooking for the campfire itself, which starts at skill 1. Every other profession unlocks its first camp feature at skill 20, so even a freshly trained gathering profession contributes something.
No. A campsite is public by design: anyone who walks up can rest and take the buffs. The polite move is to add an object of your own if you have a slot to fill, and to place your own fire a little away from an existing camp rather than on top of it, so both keep their slots.
