Blessing of Kalimdor is a three-piece Rare set dropped by three classic rares in The Barrens. Equipping any two pieces grants +5% movement speed in The Barrens and Stonetalon Mountains, the two sprawling zones where characters spend their late teens and twenties on foot.
Because the pieces occupy the Back (level 16), Finger (level 18) and Neck (level 20) slots, they fill slots that are often empty at this level while turning long Barrens and Stonetalon runs into noticeably faster loops.

- (2) Set:
Increases movement speed by 5% in The Barrens and Stonetalon Mountains.
All three pieces bind on pickup and none is a guaranteed drop, so each rare may take several kills, and rares can take a long time to respawn. Treat the set as something to check for on your leveling route rather than a quick farm. Hunters also like to tame Humar and Takk, so you may find yourself racing one to the spawn.
Humar the Pridelord and Swiftmane live close together north of Ratchet, although Swiftmane patrols a wider route, making the neck + ring pair the easiest two-piece combination at level 20. If you pair Raptor Hide Cloak with Signet of the Zhevra, you can activate the speed bonus two levels earlier at level 18.

Humar the Pridelord (5828, level 23 rare lion) rests beneath the big tree north of Ratchet around 62.1, 33.3, sometimes a little south near 61, 35, and drops
Mark of the Pack Leader (285331, Rare Neck, +5 Strength, +5 Intellect). Clear the surrounding savannah prides before pulling so nearby lions do not join the fight.
Swiftmane: Signet of the Zhevra
Swiftmane (5831, level 21 rare zhevra) patrols a loop around Humar’s tree, starting near 61.2, 34.5 and reaching 60.4, 33.0, 61.2, 29.6 and 61.8, 36.2. It drops
Signet of the Zhevra (285330, Rare Finger, +6 Agility, +2 Spirit). Because Humar and Swiftmane share the same area, check both in a single sweep whenever you pass between the Crossroads and Ratchet.
Takk the Leaper: Raptor Hide Cloak
Takk the Leaper (5842, level 19 rare raptor) patrols the northern Barrens near 59.6, 8.3, ranging from 58.2, 7.4 down to 60.8, 13.4 and as far as 61, 14. It drops
Raptor Hide Cloak (285329, Rare Back, 19 Armor, +4 Stamina, +3 Spirit). Requiring only level 16, it is the earliest piece you can equip and lets you activate the two-piece speed bonus at level 18 alongside Swiftmane’s ring.
Where the Speed Bonus Works
The two-piece bonus raises movement speed inside The Barrens and Stonetalon Mountains, and players report it stacking with Aspect of the Cheetah. Keep two pieces equipped whenever you are running between the Crossroads, Ratchet, Camp Taurajo, and Sun Rock Retreat—and even outside those two zones, a Rare neck (+5 Strength, +5 Intellect) and Rare ring (+6 Agility, +2 Spirit) at levels 18–20 remain strong combat pieces until mid-twenties dungeon jewelry replaces them.
Is Blessing of Kalimdor Worth Farming While Leveling?
Yes, as a side goal. The cloak and ring let you switch the bonus on at level 18, but the rares are level 19 (Takk), 21 (Swiftmane) and 23 (Humar), and they bring company. Check the spawns as your route passes them, kill what you find, and keep leveling. If the set is still incomplete past level 20, it is rarely worth stopping to camp a spawn.
Rare-tracking addons and coordinate addons such as TomTom make the sweep easier. The NPC IDs are 5828 (Humar), 5831 (Swiftmane) and 5842 (Takk).
Blessing of Kalimdor Farming Route
- Start at Humar and Swiftmane. Check 62.1, 33.3 and 61.2, 34.5 in one sweep.
- Equip two pieces immediately.
Mark of the Pack Leader plus
Signet of the Zhevra activates the 5% movement speed bonus. - Decide whether you need Takk.
Raptor Hide Cloak at 59.6, 8.3 is optional for the bonus. - Use the boost in Stonetalon while the quest route still keeps you in the eligible zones.
- Compare pieces before a dungeon. The speed bonus does not work inside, but the ring’s agility, the neck’s strength and intellect, and the cloak’s stamina may still beat what you have.
