1. Level Tailoring from 1 to 300
The leveling route uses Classic Era recipes and training requirements as its baseline, while the featured crafts in Section 2 come from Forever client data. Check your in-game trainer and pattern book before buying an entire cloth tier if Forever has adjusted a threshold. Every 1–300 number below is Tailoring skill, with character level requirements called out separately.
Planned craft counts are starting budgets: yellow and green recipes can miss a skill point, so stop as soon as you reach each target and buy small top-ups only when needed. Never vendor leftover bolts — Bolts of Linen, Silk and Mageweave woven early in a bracket are the exact reagents consumed by the armor steps that follow.
Stage 1 of 5 · Skill 1–75
1–75: Roll Linen Bolts and sew your first belts
At character level 5, learn Apprentice Tailoring from Lawrence Schneider in Stormwind’s Mage Quarter (53.5, 81.5) or Victor Ward in Undercity’s Magic Quarter (70.1, 29.8); Ironforge, Darnassus, Orgrimmar and Thunder Bluff have Apprentice trainers as well. Tailoring needs no gathering profession and no anvil — just keep humanoid cloth in your bags and buy Coarse Thread from a trade supplier.

Your 204 Linen Cloth make 102 Bolts of Linen Cloth, and the belts and capes here spend 50 of them. Keep the remaining 52 Bolts of Linen Cloth in your bags: Simple Kilt at skill 100 uses every single one. At skill 50 and character level 10, learn Journeyman Tailoring from Sellandus in Stormwind (52.2, 83.1) or Rhiannon Davis in Undercity (70.0, 30.6) to raise your cap to 150 before you reach 75.
Stage 2 of 5 · Skill 75–125
75–125: Spend saved Linen Bolts, then finish Wool
You already unlocked the 150 skill cap at 50, so stay in your capital and learn Bolt of Woolen Cloth at 75, Simple Kilt at 100, and Double-stitched Woolen Shoulders at 110 from your Journeyman trainer. Switch from Coarse Thread to Fine Thread when buying supplies for this bracket.

The 13 Simple Kilts consume the 52 Bolts of Linen Cloth carried from Stage 01, and the 15 Double-stitched Woolen Shoulders consume all 45 Bolts of Woolen Cloth rolled at 75. If you also level First Aid, set aside raw Wool Cloth for bandages before rolling bolts — bandages cannot be made from Bolts of Woolen Cloth.
Stage 3 of 5 · Skill 125–175
125–175: Train Expert in Stormwind or Undercity and stockpile Silk Bolts
At skill 125 and character level 20, learn Expert Tailoring to raise your cap to 225. Only two capital trainers teach this rank: Georgio Bolero in Stormwind’s Mage Quarter (53.3, 81.5) for the Alliance, and Josef Gregorian in Undercity’s Magic Quarter (70.8, 30.7) for the Horde. Visit them at 125 before Azure Silk Hood carries you to the 150 cap.

You roll 201 Bolts of Silk Cloth from 804 Silk Cloth at the start of this stage. The hoods, headbands and shirts here use 81 of those bolts, leaving 120 Bolts of Silk Cloth in your bags. Hold on to all 120 — Crimson Silk Vest and Crimson Silk Pantaloons in the next stage use the entire stack.
Stage 4 of 5 · Skill 175–250
175–250: Finish Crimson Silk and travel to Theramore or Tarren Mill
Start by rolling 94 Bolts of Mageweave from 470 Mageweave Cloth, then return to your saved Silk Bolts for Crimson Silk Vest and Pantaloons. Once you reach skill 200 and character level 35, travel outside the capitals to learn Artisan Tailoring (cap 300): Alliance tailors visit Timothy Worthington on Theramore Isle, Dustwallow Marsh (66.2, 51.8), while Horde tailors visit Daryl Stack in Tarren Mill, Hillsbrad Foothills (63.8, 20.8).

Make the trip to Theramore or Tarren Mill as soon as you reach 200 so you can learn Crimson Silk Pantaloons, Orange Mageweave Shirt, Black Mageweave Gloves and Black Mageweave Headband in one visit. The 20 vests and 10 pantaloons spend all 120 saved Silk Bolts, and the shirt, gloves and headbands spend all 94 Bolts of Mageweave.
Stage 5 of 5 · Skill 250–300
250–300: Roll Runecloth Bolts and finish with Belts and Gloves
Bolt of Runecloth (250) and Runecloth Belt (260) are taught by your Artisan trainer. For 280–300, the route uses Pattern: Runecloth Gloves, a limited-stock vendor pattern sold by Qia in Everlook, Winterspring. Confirm that you have learned Pattern: Runecloth Gloves before buying the 72 Rugged Leather.

Your 775 Runecloth produce 155 Bolts of Runecloth, while the 25 belts and 18 gloves consume 147 bolts (75 + 72). That leaves 8 spare Bolts of Runecloth to cover a missed yellow skill point or to build your 300-skill Loom camp workstation right away. If Qia’s glove pattern is camped, you can keep making Runecloth Belts while they remain yellow up to 300.
2. What Tailoring Crafts Are Worth Making in Forever?
Tailoring in Forever goes well beyond leveling robes: you can raise a Spirit banner at camp and upgrade it into a field Loom, sew dedicated reagent bags at every cloth tier, and craft level-60 epic caster gear and soul bags.
Unroll a faction banner beside a campfire so seated allies of your faction gain up to 32 Spirit
Unroll a faction banner beside a campfire so seated allies of your faction gain up to 32 Spirit. Alliance and Horde each sew their own banner; the Spirit bonus is mutually exclusive with Divine Spirit.
Upgrade your camp banner into a working Spinning Wheel
Upgrade your camp banner into a working Spinning Wheel. It lets you craft specialized tailoring reagents in the field, retains the full 32 Spirit banner benefit, and can be placed right over an existing Faction Banner to replace it.
Set up a portable Loom at your campfire for recipes that require a Loom, while still granting the Faction Banner Spirit bonus
Set up a portable Loom at your campfire for recipes that require a Loom, while still granting the Faction Banner Spirit bonus. Like other camp facilities, it requires a nearby campfire and shares the one-hour camping cooldown.
