The Exploration Chain
Exploration in Forever is one chain on a single character. Reveal each zone map, and the continent and world achievements follow on their own.
- 43 zone achievements: reveal every area of a zone map, such as Explore Alterac Mountains.
- Explore Eastern Kingdoms: all 23 zone achievements on Eastern Kingdoms.
- Explore Kalimdor: all 20 zone achievements on Kalimdor.
- Explore Azeroth: both continent achievements.
- Explorer, a Legacy Challenge: Earn 1 Legacy Point. Track it with the other challenges
Each zone section below is ordered by level, so you can pick up exploration as you quest rather than as a separate trip at 60. The full area list for a zone is also on its map page.

Legacy Challenges are account-wide achievements that pay out Legacy Points. There are 65 of them, and Explorer is the one that exploration unlocks.

Common Questions
What exploration achievements are in WoW Forever?
The client carries 43 zone exploration achievements, one for every zone in the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, asking you to reveal 549 map areas in total. 3 of those zones are new in Forever.
What do you get for exploring everything?
Finishing both continents earns Explore Azeroth, which unlocks the Explorer Legacy Challenge: Earn 1 Legacy Point.
Does exploration have to be on one character?
Yes. Both continent achievements ask for every zone map to be completed on a single character.
Do the new zones count?
Yes. The Riverglades counts towards Explore Eastern Kingdoms, and Mount Hyjal and Shen’dralas count towards Explore Kalimdor.
