WoW Forever opens on November 4 at 3:00 p.m. PST, and your first evening sets the trajectory for the weeks that follow. Forever rewards account-wide planning: each of these choices costs nothing to plan now and a lot to fix later. Three deserve attention before login: mapping out early bag upgrades, planning alts and crafting for fast Legacy Points, and pacing a steady weekly climb toward rank 14.

Each section below outlines the strategy and connects directly to our data-backed guides.

Bag Space: The First Bottleneck in Outdoor Leveling

In Classic, filling your inventory during the first hour meant an agonizing hike back to town and piles of grey items abandoned on the ground. Forever changes this dynamic by distributing more free inventory earlier in the leveling curve.

  • Levels 1–6: Every starting zone features a quest that rewards a 6-slot bag. Complete it before moving into the wider world.
  • Day-one economy: A 6-slot Small Brown Pouch costs just 5 silver from general goods vendors. Four modest bags carry far more than a single upgrade paired with three empty slots, so fill every slot immediately.
  • Level 9: Alliance players can secure Old Blanchy’s Feed Pouch in Westfall, updated to 8 slots instead of 4. The Horde receives the new 8-slot Scuffed Shipping Crate from Parts and Pieces in Ratchet.
  • Level 14: Stepping Stones, the second objective in the Cozy Sleeping Bag chain, delivers two 12-slot bags simultaneously.

Your move: Claim your starter-zone pouch, spend your first silver filling open slots, and schedule Stepping Stones the first evening you arrive in the Barrens or Westfall. The early bags guide provides full coordinates and map pins for every quest start.

Legacy Points: The Account-Wide Growth Engine

The Legacy System fundamentally alters the purpose of leveling alts. In Classic, rolling a second character meant starting over from scratch. In Forever, early milestones channel Legacy Points to your entire account, letting each character invest up to 16 points into a tailored perk build.

The fastest early points require zero endgame investment and unlock before level 30:

  • Classes at 25: Every unique class awards one Legacy Point the first time it reaches level 25.
  • Crafting at 150 and 225: Each of the six crafting professions grants one point at 150 and another at 225, with Expert training opening at level 20.

This makes two characters of different classes at level 25, sharing four crafting professions leveled to 225, an efficient 10-point plan. If material prices spike during launch week, a three-character route with six crafts at 150 and one at 225 delivers the same 10 points for far less gold.

Your move: Assign two distinct crafting professions to your main, and ensure your first alt picks up two different ones. Rolling a second character of the same class or duplicating Enchanting yields zero additional points. The Legacy Points guide details both progression paths, and Working Overtime is the priority perk to take while leveling tradeskills.

PvP Rank: A Weekly Climb Instead of a Day-One Sprint

Classic’s honor system was notorious for rewarding raw hours played, turning the climb to rank 14 into an exhausting full-time commitment. Forever retains the iconic military ranks and titles while modernizing the rules of engagement.

  • Rank Points earned through battlegrounds and Gadgetzan PvP tasks advance your rank, governed by a predictable weekly cap. Consistent weekly participation keeps you on pace with the most dedicated players.
  • Honor functions purely as spendable currency for PvP gear, capped at 25,000. Purchasing upgrades never degrades your rank progress.
  • The Field of Honor journey spans ten weeks. Its weekly tasks supply Honor and Rank Points, with weeks 4, 7, and 10 each awarding an account-wide Legacy Point.
  • Warsong Gulch opens at level 10, allowing leveling characters to build toward rank 3, which awards their first PvP Legacy Point.

Your move: Never sacrifice your launch-week leveling efficiency to grind honor prematurely. Once the season opens, prioritize weekly tasks first, follow the holiday battleground bonus, and queue your highest-yield map. The rank 14 guide provides the full weekly checklist and a complete three-phase season roadmap.
