Loch Modan

About Loch Modan

Loch Modan is the gentlest face of dwarven country. The Stonewrought Dam holds back a great blue lake, and Thelsamar’s inns keep the road warm for travelers heading in and out of Ironforge. It is a place where a dwarf might ask for a pint before he asks for your name.

It has also been a place of quiet decisions. During the Second War the exiled Frostwolf chieftain Durotan arrived at its edge to meet his old friend Orgrim Doomhammer, carrying his infant son Go’el. There he laid out everything he had learned about the warlocks’ corruption of the Horde. Neither of them knew that the child in Durotan’s arms would one day lead the orcs to redemption.

Thelsamar is the warm center of dwarven life beyond Ironforge, and the quests never stop: troggs spill out of the Badlands, and Dark Iron dwarves lurk in the hills. When you are ready to move on, the roads lead to the Wetlands and the Badlands.
