How These Picks Are Made

Each level shows the best piece for every slot you can get on the way there: boss and trash drops in every dungeon you can enter by then, dungeon quests and world quests from the level you can take them, vendor gear, named rare drops, and crafted gear. Pieces marked crafter only bind to their maker or need the profession to wear. Under each sheet, the best enchant or armor kit for each piece is listed with the skill it needs, from the level that skill can be trained. Every spec ranks items by its own stat weights, the same ones behind its stat priority above, with a little extra value on Stamina while you level; open a spec's stat weights under its priority to see the numbers. Below the totals, each sheet names the two-hander or one-hand pair it passed over and how close it comes. Under each sheet, Gear Options lists every slot's pick (five stars) and its next three pieces, rated in stars against it, by slot or by where to farm them. Right-click an option's icon to try it on the sheet, or click a slot on the sheet to choose from its options; the totals follow. Hover any item for its full tooltip.

Each stat priority is the spec's stat weights from highest to lowest, so it always matches how the sheets rank gear; stats of equal weight are joined with =. Damage to one spell school (such as +30 Shadow damage) counts as Spell Power in proportion to the share of damage the spec deals in that school, and Spell Penetration as half a point of Spell Power. At level 60 the PvE set is pre-raid gear (dungeons, quests, crafting and reputation, no raid drops), and the PvP set adds battleground reputation and honor rank gear. Items without Forever data yet show their Classic Era stats.

What is the best Shadow Priest stat priority in WoW Forever?

Critical Strike > Hit > Spell Power = Shadow Damage > Mana per 5 sec > Intellect > Stamina > Spirit. This order is Shadow Magic's stat weights from highest to lowest, the same weights every sheet on this page ranks gear by; Critical Strike and Hit count per 1%, the rest per point.

What is the Shadow Priest hit cap in WoW Forever?

Shadow Magic needs 16% hit against a level 63 raid boss. The hit you need depends on how many levels the target is above you, not on your own level. Spells need 3%, 4%, 5% and 16% against targets 0 to 3 levels above you, so a level 63 raid boss takes 16% and same-level enemies only 3%. Hit from talents counts too, so gear needs only the rest.

What is the Shadow Priest pre-raid BiS gear at level 60?

The Level 60 PvE sheet is Shadow Priest pre-raid BiS: the best piece in every slot from dungeons, quests, crafting and reputation, without raid drops. The PvP sheet adds battleground reputation and honor rank gear. Each slot lists where the piece drops and three alternatives.

When should a Shadow Priest upgrade gear while leveling?

This page has a full gear sheet at level 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60. Each sheet uses only gear you can reach by that level, from dungeons you can enter, quests you can take, vendors, rare spawns and crafting, plus the best enchant for each piece. Priests wear cloth armor at most.
