Where Is the WoW Forever AddOns Folder?
Forever keeps its addons apart from Retail and Classic, in the _forever_ folder of your World of Warcraft installation.

Installed the game somewhere else? Open the Battle.net app, select WoW Forever, and use the gear menu next to Play to open the game folder. If there is no Interface or AddOns folder inside _forever_ yet, create them, spelled exactly like that.
Install WoW Forever Addons With CurseForge
The CurseForge app is the easiest way to install addons and keep them updated.
- Install the CurseForge app and choose World of Warcraft.
- Switch to your Forever installation and check that it points at the _forever_ folder, not _retail_ or _classic_era_.
- Search for the addon and press Install. Required addons such as BugGrabber come along automatically.
- Restart the game. Use Update all in the app after patches.
Install WoW Forever Addons by Hand
- On the addon's official page, download the file marked for Forever.
- Unzip it. Many addons contain several folders (Deadly Boss Mods, for example); move all of them.
- Put each folder directly into the AddOns folder, so the .toc file sits one level inside, as in
AddOns\Questie\Questie.toc. - Restart the game.

Turn Addons On in WoW Forever
At character select, press AddOns in the lower-left corner. Tick the addons you want, choose whether the list applies to this character or all of them, and enter the world. Most addons add a minimap button or a slash command, shown on their download page.
WoW Forever Addons Not Showing or Not Working
Work down this list; almost every addon problem is one of these.
The game was running when you installed it
New addons only load when the game starts. Exit to the desktop and start the game again; logging out to character select is not enough.
It went into the wrong game folder
Retail, Classic and Forever each have their own folder (_retail_, _classic_era_, _forever_) with its own AddOns folder. Forever only reads the one inside _forever_.
There is one folder too many
Unzipping can create AddOns\Questie-main\Questie. The addon folder must sit directly in AddOns, so that its .toc file is at AddOns\Questie\Questie.toc. Move the inner folder up one level.
It shows as out of date or incompatible
You most likely have a file made for another game version. Open the addon's .toc file in a text editor: addons for the Forever 1.60.1 client start with ## Interface: 16001. Download the Forever file instead. Ticking "Load out of date AddOns" only helps with small addons, and only until the author updates.
It needs another addon
Some addons are plugins for another one. HandyNotes: WoW Forever needs HandyNotes, and BugSack needs BugGrabber. The addon list marks a missing dependency in red when you hover the addon.
It loads but throws errors
Install BugSack and BugGrabber to collect the errors; the first line names the addon that failed. Update that addon first. If the errors stay, turn every addon off, then turn them back on one at a time until the problem returns.
Some combat addons also work differently in Forever by design: the game follows modern WoW's addon rules, which limit how much an addon can decide for you in combat. When a feature is missing rather than broken, check the addon's page for its Forever notes. What to use instead of WeakAuras
Keep Your Addon Settings
Addon settings live in the WTF folder next to Interface inside _forever_. Copy it somewhere safe before you reinstall the game or try a new interface addon, and copy it back to restore every layout and option.

Where is the AddOns folder for WoW Forever?
On Windows the default is C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\_forever_\Interface\AddOns. On a Mac it is usually /Applications/World of Warcraft/_forever_/Interface/AddOns. If you installed the game somewhere else, open the Battle.net app, select WoW Forever, and use the gear menu next to Play to show the game folder.
Can I use my Classic Era addons in WoW Forever?
Usually not as they are. Forever runs on the modern client, so download each addon's Forever file instead of copying your Classic Era AddOns folder across.
Does CurseForge support WoW Forever?
Yes. Addons on CurseForge can publish Forever files, and the CurseForge app can manage your Forever installation. Check that it points at the _forever_ folder.
Why don't my addons show up in WoW Forever?
The three usual causes: the game was running when you installed them, they went into another game's AddOns folder, or the addon folder sits one level too deep. Restart the game after fixing any of these.
Are addons safe and allowed in WoW Forever?
