About Thunder Bluff
For generations the tauren never stayed anywhere long. They believed in the Earth Mother, spoke to the elements through shamanism, and were hunted by the centaur for sport; a year of peace was always followed by a year of war. They moved from plain to plain, and their homes were tents they could fold. Then Thrall’s Horde arrived in the Barrens. The orcs and tauren fought shoulder to shoulder, the centaur warbands were scattered, and High Chieftain Cairne Bloodhoof could finally say that the cycle was over.
Cairne led his people west to Mulgore and chose to build a home that did not have to move. Thunder Bluff rises from the plains on four great mesas, joined by rope bridges that sway in the wind. Elevators carry visitors up from the grass of Mulgore, and at night the totem fires glow high above the plains.
Cairne’s Horde is not the fury of Grommash Hellscream. It is a people who chose the Horde because it was the first to defend them, and who bring to it their patience, their reverence for the land, and their long memory of what it costs to lose a home. Thunder Bluff is the Horde’s calmest capital, but you will not mistake its peace for weakness.
The city is open, calm, and wide enough for the wind to pass through. Rope bridges link the four rises, the tauren gather around the totems of the Earth Mother, and elevators run down to the plains of Mulgore.

Thunder Bluff is the tauren capital atop four wind-swept mesas in Mulgore, connected by rope bridges and two sets of elevators. It is the most compact crafting hub in the Horde—with the Bank, Auction House, Inn, Mailbox, Forge, and Anvil all standing within steps of each other on the lower central mesa—and serves as the quest hub for Wailing Caverns, Razorfen Kraul, Razorfen Downs, and Arch Druid Hamuul Runetotem's Morrowgrain and Un'Goro chains.
1Before You Start: The Auction House
The city reputation cloth quartermaster asks for 60 of each cloth tier for Thunder Bluff reputation. All of it is tradeable, so the central Thunder Bluff Auction House is the quickest source.
