About Teldrassil
Teldrassil is a promise the night elves made to themselves. After the Third War, when Nordrassil was damaged and their immortality slipped away, the druids of the Cenarion Circle planted a new World Tree on the coast and named it the Crown of the Earth. It rose above the sea so tall that its trunk looked like an island.
The night elves built Darnassus among its boughs, and the villages of Shadowglen and Dolanaar shelter beneath its canopy. But the young tree is not entirely at peace: whispers of corruption run through its roots, and even the animals beneath its boughs behave strangely. The night elves who live here have learned to trust the moon over everything else.
Shadowglen and Dolanaar welcome new night elf adventurers beneath the canopy, Darnassus sits on the western side of the tree, and the boat from Rut’theran Village carries players on to Darkshore.

Teldrassil Leveling Guide for the Alliance, Levels 1–12
Teldrassil is the night elf starting zone, the island on the great tree. You begin in the glade at the foot of Aldrassil, spend your first hour in the valley around it, and then follow the road to Dolanaar, where the rest of the zone is quested from. Most of the quests are short and close together, so the zone is a good place to learn the pull-kill-return rhythm.
Monsters rise gently from level 1 nightsabers and boars at the tree to level 8 and 9 harpies and furbolgs, with named monsters at the end: Ursal the Mauler at 12, Rageclaw at 10, and the three harpy chiefs in the Oracle Glade. Forever adds a handful of new quests, marked as you reach them. At 10 you leave by the portal down to Rut'theran Village for the boat to Darkshore.
1Before You Start: The Auction House
Teldrassil's quest items are almost all non-tradeable drops, so the auction house has little to offer. The one that saves time is the spider legs for Recipe of the Kaldorei: seven Small Spider Legs, which spiders drop but which can also be bought.
| Item | Buy | For quest |
|---|---|---|
| Small Spider Leg | 7 | Recipe of the Kaldorei |
2Aldrassil: The First QuestsLevel 1–3
You start at the foot of Aldrassil. Take every quest in the yard, then fight on the surrounding ground: the nightsabers and boars you need are right next to the tree.
The first quests are all level 1 to 3 and need only a few kills each, so you should have your first levels before you walk away.

- 1Melithar Staghelm 59.9, 42.5: The Woodland Protector, which sends you to the dryad Tarindrella 57.8, 45.2.
- 2Conservator Ilthalaine 58.7, 44.3: The Balance of Nature, seven Young Nightsabers (1) and four Young Thistle Boars (1–2) around the tree 57.9, 44.7, then the second part with seven Mangy Nightsabers (2) and seven Thistle Boars (2–3) to the north 61.3, 39.1.
- 3Tarindrella 57.8, 45.2: The Woodland Protector (eight Fel Moss from the grells west of the tree 56.2, 45.8) and Nature's Call, new in Forever, at a Gnarlpine totem 56.0, 46.1.
- 4Shanda 59.2, 40.4: The Goddess Provides, new in Forever.
- 5Dirania Silvershine 60.9, 42.0: A Good Friend, and later Iverron's Antidote. Gilshalan Windwalker 57.8, 41.6: Webwood Venom, Webwood Egg and Tenaron's Summons. Porthannius 61.2, 47.6: Dolanaar Delivery, to carry down the road.
3Shadowthread Cave and the MoonwellLevel 2–5
North of Aldrassil, Shadowthread Cave is the Webwood spiders' home (3–4). Iverron waits in the trees west of the cave mouth; Githyiss the Vile sits deep inside at 5, so keep him for the end.
Iverron's Antidote has a time limit: gather the ingredients first, then hand it to him quickly.

- 1Hyacinth Mushrooms and Moonpetal Lilies 58.1, 35.6: four Moonpetal Lilies by the ponds north of the tree, and seven Hyacinth Mushrooms 60.9, 30.2 from the grells.
- 2Shadowthread Cave 58.8, 33.4: ten Webwood Venom Sacs from the spiders for Webwood Venom, the Webwood Egg at the back 57.0, 26.5, and the Webwood Ichor 56.9, 26.3 for the antidote.
- 3Iverron 54.6, 33.0: A Friend in Need, then the antidote. Githyiss the Vile sits deep inside the cave: kill him for Fang of Githyiss, new in Forever, which you hand to Gilshalan.
- 4Tenaron Stormgrip on top of Aldrassil 59.1, 39.5: take Crown of the Earth, and a Lost Journal lies beside him.
- 5The moonwell north of the tree 60.0, 33.0: fill the Crystal Phial, then take it back to Tenaron, who gives you the partly filled vessel to carry to Corithras in Dolanaar.
4Dolanaar: The Next HubLevel 4–7
Follow the road southwest out of Shadowglen to Dolanaar. Everything from level 4 to 7 starts here, and the inn is the best place to bind your hearthstone.
Take the whole board first: Zenn, the Sentinels, Athridas and Tallonkai each have several quests, and many of them end in the villages to the east and south.

- 1Corithras Moonrage 56.1, 61.7: hand in the partly filled vessel and take the next Crown of the Earth (the Jade Phial, to fill at the Starbreeze moonwell 63.4, 58.1), then later the Tourmaline and Amethyst phials.
- 2Zenn Foulhoof 60.4, 56.2: Zenn's Bidding, three Nightsaber Fangs, three Strigid Owl Feathers and three Webwood Spider Silk from the monsters along the road east 58.9, 60.3. Sentinel Kyra Starsong 56.0, 59.5: Seek Redemption! (three Fel Cones under the trees 60.2, 62.3) and The Lost Runner.

- 6Syral Bladeleaf 56.1, 57.7: Denalan's Earth, a delivery to Lake Al'Ameth. Moon Priestess Amara 52.9, 57.2: The Road to Darnassus.
5Starbreeze Village and the EastLevel 4–8
East of Dolanaar, the road leads to Starbreeze Village. The nightsabers, owls and Webwood Lurkers along it cover Zenn's Bidding on the way, and the moonwell at the west edge of the village is the Jade Phial's stop.
Ferocitas camps northeast of the village with the Gnarlpine Mystics (6–7); the dresser in the house on the hill at the east end holds the Emerald Dreamcatcher.

- 1Gaerolas Talvethren 66.3, 58.5: Gnarlpine Corruption, to be handed in to Athridas back in Dolanaar.
- 2The moonwell at the west edge of the village 63.4, 58.1: fill the Jade Phial.

6Lake Al'Ameth and Fel RockLevel 4–8
South of Dolanaar, Denalan tends his saplings on the shore of Lake Al'Ameth. Timberlings and Lasher Sproutlings wander around him, and the sprouts grow among them. West of the village, Fel Rock is the cave with Lord Melenas at the back.
The Gnarlpine Ambushers hide along the road west of Fel Rock, so do The Road to Darnassus on the way.

- 1Denalan 60.9, 68.5: Timberling Seeds and Timberling Sprouts; hand in Denalan's Earth here. The twelve Timberling Sprouts grow around the lake 55.1, 66.0; the eight seeds come from the monsters wandering near him. Byancie's six Dewy Lasher Fronds 60.1, 70.3 for The Great Tree Provides are here too.
- 2Fel Rock 51.2, 50.8: kill Lord Melenas (8) at the back for his head, Twisted Hatred.
- 3The road west of Fel Rock 48.3, 53.5: six Gnarlpine Ambushers (6–7) for The Road to Darnassus.
7Ban'ethil Barrow DenLevel 3–10
The barrow south of the road holds four relic chests in its lower rooms, a captured Sentinel, and the druid Rageclaw. Oben Rageclaw sleeps in the depths, and Sentinel Lynessa Duskblossom is held prisoner inside.
Take the escort first: bring Lynessa out and keep her alive, then clear the lower rooms for the relics.

- 1Sentinel Lynessa Duskblossom 44.7, 58.9: Escaping Ban'ethil, new in Forever; walk her out to the hollow 46.4, 57.3 and report to Sentinel Kyra in Dolanaar.
- 2Oben Rageclaw 44.9, 61.6: The Sleeping Druid (the Shaman Voodoo Charm 44.5, 60.5) and Druid of the Claw.
- 3The lower rooms 45.6, 57.4: the four relics for The Relics of Wakening: the Raven Claw Talisman, the Black Feather Quill 43.7, 61.2, the Rune of Nesting 44.4, 60.7 and the Sapphire of Sky 44.7, 62.4.
- 4Rageclaw in the den 45.5, 58.6: kill Rageclaw (10) for Druid of the Claw.
8Gnarlpine Hold, the Pools and UrsalLevel 4–12
South and west of the barrow, the Pools of Arlithrien hold the third moonwell, and Gnarlpine Hold sits just south of them with the strange fruited plant Denalan wants. Ursal the Mauler prowls far to the south, below the pools.
Ursal is level 12, a step above the rest of the zone, so he is the last kill of the southern loop; hearth to Dolanaar afterwards.

- 1The Pools of Arlithrien 42.4, 67.1: fill the Tourmaline Phial for Crown of the Earth.
- Gnarlpine Hold, just south of the pools: pick the glowing fruit from the strange fruited plant that grows by the Hold for The Glowing Fruit, and take it to Denalan at the lake.
- 2Ursal the Mauler 38.8, 79.8: kill Ursal (12) for Athridas's Ursal the Mauler.
9The Oracle GladeLevel 6–12
The Oracle Glade lies northwest of Dolanaar. The moonwell is in the middle, the strange fronded plant at the north end, and the Bloodfeather harpies nest on the slopes west and north of it. Three named harpies are the bosses: Hatescreech and Windmistress Gaedress west of the moonwell, Witchmother Arysa further north.
Sentinel Eralya Leafshadow lies hurt beside the road in, and you pass her twice: once on the way in for Not Dead Yet, once on the way back.

- 1Sentinel Eralya Leafshadow 37.5, 36.8: hand in The Lost Runner and take Not Dead Yet, new in Forever.
- 2Sentinel Arynia Cloudsbreak 38.3, 34.4: The Enchanted Glade (six Bloodfeather Belts from the harpies 37.3, 37.8), Darkness in the Glade and The Oracle Tree.
- 3The moonwell in the glade 38.4, 34.1: fill the Amethyst Phial for Crown of the Earth, and pick the shimmering frond at the north end for The Shimmering Frond, which goes to Denalan.
- 4Hatescreech 35.0, 39.3 and Windmistress Gaedress 33.2, 36.1: kill both for their amulets, then Witchmother Arysa 34.2, 27.9, for Darkness in the Glade.
- 5Dolanaar 55.3, 56.8: hand in Not Dead Yet and The Great Tree Provides to Byancie, then take Easing Suffering back to Sentinel Eralya at the glade.
10Rut'theran Village: Leave Now, Come Back LaterLevel 10–57
At 10, take the road to Darnassus and the portal down to Rut'theran Village. Nessa Shadowsong on the dock and Vesprystus at the hippogryphs set you on your way to Darkshore.
You will see Rut'theran again, because Erelas Ambersky and Daryn Lightwind have quests of their own at much higher levels: the wildkin and Winterspring quests at 42 to 57. They are listed here so you know where to look.

- 1Nessa Shadowsong on the dock 56.3, 92.4: The Bounty of Teldrassil, which goes to Vesprystus 58.4, 94.0, who gives Flight to Auberdine.

- 3Erelas Ambersky 55.5, 92.0: Favored of Elune? at 42, Moontouched Wildkin at 52, Find Ranshalla and Wildkin of Elune at 57.
