Zone Map & Leveling Guide

Redridge Mountains, the red-cliffed valleys around Lakeshire where blackrock orcs and gnolls threaten the Alliance.

About Redridge Mountains

Redridge takes its name from the red stone that flushes the hills at sunset, and it has always stood on the road between Stormwind and everything to the east. When Blackhand launched the next phase of the First War, his orcs came here first; the foothills of Redridge fell almost without resistance, and the Horde held the region while it planned its assault on the capital.

Blackrock Mountain smolders just beyond its northern ridges, and the heights hold stranger secrets. During the Second War the black dragon Deathwing lured the Dragonmaw clan to a hidden vault in these mountains where the Dragon Soul lay, protected by a red dragon guardian. Lakeshire’s militia has been watching the passes ever since.

Lakeshire sits beside a sparkling lake beneath red-stone peaks, and its militia is always looking for help against the gnolls and Blackrock orcs pouring in from the east. Redridge is a fine stretch of questing between Elwynn Forest and Duskwood, and its roads run straight north to Burning Steppes.

Redridge Mountains Leveling Guide for the Alliance, Levels 15–26

Redridge Mountains is the Alliance's stop between Westfall and Duskwood, and it carries you from about 15 to the mid-twenties. The base is Lakeshire, the town on the north shore of Lake Everstill, with Three Corners and the Lakeridge Highway on the road in. Everything works the same way as in Westfall: pick up at the hub, loop through the hills, the lake and the mills, and come back.

The zone gets harder as you move north and east: gnolls and boars in the hills around Three Corners (15 to 17), the lake and the town's errands (15 to 20), the mill and Galardell Valley (19 to 26), and the Blackrock orcs in Render's Valley at the north end (24 to 25). Forever adds two new quests here, Show of Force and Alther's Mill, marked as you reach them.

1Before You Start: The Auction House

Three Lakeshire quests take items you can buy instead of hunting: the fins from the lake murlocs for Murloc Poachers and the condor and spider meat for the cook's Redridge Goulash. The goretusk snouts for the same stew are quest items and cannot be traded.

Redridge Goulash also needs five Great Goretusk Snouts. They are quest items that cannot be traded, so they always come from the Great Goretusks.

2Three Corners and the Lakeridge HighwayLevel 11–17

The road from Elwynn enters Redridge at Three Corners, where Guard Parker stands at the fork between Redridge and Duskwood. Follow the road along the south shore of Lake Everstill to the gryphon master; Deputy Feldon and Guard Howe stand next to her.

Take Feldon's quests here, then work the hills east of Three Corners: the Redridge Mongrels (15–16) and other gnolls, the Thrashers (14–15) among them and the Poachers (16–17) south of the road.

  • 1Guard Parker at Three Corners 10.2, 71.5: Encroaching Gnolls, to be handed in to Deputy Feldon.
  • 2Deputy Feldon on the Lakeridge Highway 25.6, 60.0: Assessing the Threat and Show of Force, new in Forever. Guard Howe 26.4, 57.9: Blackrock Bounty, for later.

3Lakeshire: The Hub of the ZoneLevel 15–20

Cross the long bridge north into town. Foreman Oslow and Marshal Marris stand at its north end, Dockmaster Baren is on the docks, Chef Breanna is at the inn, Bailiff Conacher is in the town hall and Martie Jainrose is in her garden at the west end.

Bind your hearthstone at the inn, take the flight path and pick up everything before you leave the town.

  • 4Wiley the Black 21.4, 45.4: hand in The Defias Brotherhood if you carry it from Westfall.

4The Lake and the BridgeLevel 15–20

Murloc Flesheaters and Tidecallers (18–19) line the south shore east of the bridge, and any of them can carry a Spotted Sunfish or a fin. Oslow's Toolbox lies on the lake bed east of the bridge.

The iron for The Everstill Bridge is in the far south of the zone.

  • 2The lake bed 36.4, 54.7: swim east from the bridge for Oslow's Toolbox.
  • 3The far south 24.4, 84.0: five Iron Pikes and five Iron Rivets for The Everstill Bridge.
  • 4The hills south of the road 30.4, 70.2: five Tough Condor Meat, and five Great Goretusk Snouts from the Great Goretusks 28.8, 71.3.

5Alther's Mill and Galardell ValleyLevel 19–26

Greater Tarantulas (19–20) crawl on the slopes around the mill northeast of the lake, and Blackrock Renegades hold the mill itself; the Crisp Spider Meat for the goulash drops from the tarantulas. Any Blackrock orc drops the Battleworn Axes.

East past the mill and across the river, Shadowhide gnolls fill Galardell Valley, with Lieutenant Fangore (26, well above you) at its north end. Clear his escort first and fight him at full health. Stay out of Stonewatch Keep to the south: its orcs are elite.

Map of Redridge Mountains with the stops of part 5 numbered
  • 1The slopes around the mill 42.7, 38.5: twelve Greater Tarantulas for Alther's Mill, plus the spider meat.
  • 2The mill 38.3, 40.2: ten Battleworn Axes from the Blackrock orcs for Blackrock Menace.
  • 3Galardell Valley 63.6, 45.7: ten Shadowhide Pendants from any Shadowhide for Solomon's Law.
  • 4Lieutenant Fangore 75.1, 37.1: kill him at the north end for his paw; Magistrate Solomon in Lakeshire takes it 24.9, 44.5.

6Render's Valley and Corporal KeeshanLevel 19–25

Head north out of Lakeshire up the Redridge Canyons to Render's Valley, where Blackrock Champions (24–25) camp. Corporal Keeshan hides at the very north end of the valley, by the Burning Steppes border.

Escort him down to Lakeshire; Blackrock orcs ambush you on the way.

Map of Redridge Mountains with the stops of part 6 numbered
  • 1Render's Valley 23.5, 17.3: fifteen Blackrock Champions for Blackrock Bounty.
  • 2Corporal Keeshan 23.3, 12.6: Missing In Action, an escort back to Marshal Marris in Lakeshire 28.4, 49.0.

7Moving On: Duskwood

With the hand-ins done at Lakeshire you should be 25 or 26, ready for Duskwood, which lies down the other fork of the road at Three Corners.
