Blizzard revealed World of Warcraft: Forever at BlizzCon 2026: a full new World of Warcraft game set in a reimagined original Azeroth, built as a permanent home alongside modern and Classic WoW. Blizzard is clear that Forever is not a mode, a season, or a new version of Classic.
Key Dates
- Beta: September 17 through October 21, 2026.
- Launch: November 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. PST, worldwide.
- New raids unlock: December 9, 2026.
How to Play
Base access comes with an active World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time. Optional upgrade packs add extra benefits, and the Skyborne Heroic Pack includes the Skyborne race and its Zephras Isle starting experience.
A Reimagined Azeroth
Forever takes place after Warcraft III: Reforged — Forsaken Kingdom and before Molten Core, returning to the original continents. The journey runs from level 1 to 60 with no flying mounts and no level scaling, so leveling stays as important as the endgame.
More than 1,000 new quests are planned across that journey. New and reimagined regions include Mount Hyjal, Shen’dralas, Riverglades, and Zephras Isle. Browse them all in the zones guide.
The Skyborne
The Skyborne are a new playable race that choose Horde or Alliance at character creation. Both factions can play Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, and Druid; Horde Skyborne can also be Shamans, and Alliance Skyborne can also be Mages. Their story begins on Zephras Isle, which covers levels 1 to 12.
Dungeons, Raids, and PvP
Nine new dungeons join the world: Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron, an excavation site above Whelgar’s Excavation, City of Dalaran, Blackmaw Hold, Drowned City, Krol’dok Stronghold, Alcaz Prison, and Shaper’s Terrace.
Three raids open the endgame on December 9: Barrow Deeps, a 10-player challenge at maximum level, Hyjal Summit, a 20-player raid, and Onyxia’s Lair for 40 players. PvP players get Darkspear Islands, a new 15-vs-15 battleground off Kalimdor built around control points with Arathi Basin-style capture and defense.
After Launch
Blizzard plans to keep Forever growing with more raids and dungeons, PvP updates, new world content and quests across the 1 to 60 journey, Hardcore, a revamped iconic raid, and other major updates.
